By the Harbour

København (the Danish name for Copenhagen) means 'by a harbour' which is where we spent significant amount of time today, exploring Denmark's capital city. The Oz-king and his girlfriend were excellent tour guides and showed us the main tourist attractions.
We ate a traditional Danish lunch of open sandwiches with a variety of breads and toppings, accompnied by beer and schnapps while we enjoyed the sunshine at the boat harbour.

We dropped in to see our Mary at Amalienborg Palace and even though the flag flying above her residence indicated that she and Crown Prince Freddie were home, they didn't make an appearance that afternoon. Probably too busy with the kids as it is the last weekend of summer vacation before Danish children go back to school on Monday.

One of the most popular attractions in Copenhagen is the statue of The Little Mermaid, which is a tribute to Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen, author of children's stories including The Emperor's New Clothes and The Ugly Duckling.

Then suddenly we were captured by a fierce and ruthless Viking!
