Day Three

 Not much to report really...German highways...all day. The service station stops were the highlights with fabulous food courts and self cleaning toilets. We stopped at Neumunster in the far north of Germany and found a very nice hotel and restaurant for dinner. The next morning we braved the Fruhstuhkzimmer (breakfast room) and were faced with all manner of breads, waffles, cheeses, cold meats, eggs, jams, yoghurts, you name it!

But what I found the quaintest of all was this little bag which was set at each place. I watched a German woman eat her breakfast and then make herself a couple of ham and cheese rolls and place them into the bags. Finally AG asked what it said on the bag and apparently it invites you to make yourself a second breakfast to take with you. What? Second breakfast? We've driven all the way across Germany to reach Hobbiton! Das wunderbar!
